Believe it or not, the farm’s operations (excluding the new Farm House Community Center) are currently powered by just 250 AMPS – far below what we need now and for the future. We need your help to upgrade to over 1,200 AMPS and 3-Phase Electric power.
Believe it or not, the farm’s operations (excluding the new Farm House Community Center) are currently powered by just 250 AMPS – far below what we need now and for the future. We need your help to upgrade to over 1,200 AMPS and 3-Phase Electric power.
In simple terms, this upgrade means that every space on the farm will have reliable electricity, enabling us to install heat and air conditioning units to create more comfortable learning environments. No more blown breakers in the Farm Store, and for our farmers, it means finally having access to a cooler to keep our vegetables fresh and our programs organized!
The total project cost is $128,000, and we’re excited to share that we’ve secured a $100,000 NYS RGE Grant. However, we need your help to raise the remaining $28,000 to get this essential project completed by the end of 2024.
This project will ensure all electrical panels are fully updated, creating a safer environment for everyone we serve. More power means more potential for the farm’s future growth, including the possibility of light poles extending to exciting future projects like kayaking rentals, a marina, and even a winery on the canal – in partnership with Rohrbach’s! While those dreams are for someday, our immediate focus is ensuring the safety and sustainability of our operations today and preparing for future developments, including our upcoming 30-acre housing project.
